I had the great fortune of attending a friend's wedding this weekend, and in lieu of a guestbook, the bride and groom opted to have all those in attendance fill out a small card with their name, address, phone number, and email. I thought it was a FANTASTIC idea, as it would GREATLY help in the process of creating their first address book AND be great to have everyone's addresses for thank-you cards for gifts! HuZZAH! BUT, the best part of the cards was that at the bottom was a large blank space for everyone to write well wishes to the newlywed couple! Mine read as follows:
RECIPE FOR THE PERFECT RELATIONSHIP
1 Part Blythe
1 Part Kyle
Heaping Dose of Love
Dash of Giggles
A Hint of Mystery
A Pinch (if she's not always right!)
Stir well. Serve HOT!

Continuing in regular narrative style-ish, whatever it is I write in here...
This was a fantastic weekend.
I had an absolute BLAST getting to hang out with some friends I hadn't seen in almost 3 years! We stayed up well past our bedtimes, talking, playing games (particularly Mario Kart Wii!!!), and playing music. SO much fun...
I had plans the next day to visit some places around Dallas, but ended up just sleeping in, relaxing, and enjoying a pleasant day off. After getting to spend a few more hours with my friends, I headed out to Grapevine to catch up with my Lubbock friends who were here for the wedding as well. After experiencing Cheesecake Factory for the first time (PS- The food I got was delicious! Oddly enough, I did not eat any cheesecake. haha!), we headed over to the Bride's house to crash for the evening. After calming her nerves for the night and getting settled in, sleep was soon upon us.
Since there was a rather large herd of women staying together with only one bathroom at their disposal, I beat the rush getting up rather early. Unfortunately, I started feeling the effects later as I was simply exhausted later that evening (and even into today!). However, I got up and around, fixed up real nice, and headed back over to Dallas to visit my AMAZING friend I met at VidCon in LA! We went and had brunch/lunch at this lovely little place called "Breadwinners" in Uptown Dallas and, yeah, it was fantastic. After some time chatting, we headed over to this (comparatively) smaller Dallas mall called "Northpark," I believe. We hit up some cool little shops, the Apple store!, and some of the neat art installments in the walkways.
After that, it was time to make my way over to the wedding venue. After some quick directional work, I finally arrived and ready to work. After lending a hand getting some decorations ready, I had the fun job of helping my friends do their hair and make-up for the wedding! Now, for as rarely as I get all fancied up, you'd think I wasn't that big of a make-up guru. HOWEVER, I have seen waaaaaay too many make-up tutorials on YouTube to not know a thing or two about getting these girls glammed up for the event. They looked fantastic!
So, I go out and help here and there doing things and then it's wedding time! The ceremony was very short and sweet. Really not much else to say about that. On the other hand, this was definitely one of the most fun receptions I've ever been to! Everyone was out dancing and enjoying themselves! Oh my goodness, my body is still aching today from jumping around so much. haha... But as I said, much fun was had by all and it was fantastic to be able to spend that time with my friends and celebrate that special day.
Post-wedding, a bunch of us Lubbock kids got together to hang out and unwind from the long day we'd had. However, an hour turned into two and half and it was definitely well past when we should have been sleeping. Everyone headed out and the excitement of the day was over.
I headed out today and took the time to stop at home to visit my family for a few hours. I always enjoy getting to see them, even if for short bits of time!
And here I am, up several hours past when I predicted I would be asleep tonight, but as always, I should have known better. :D
I guess it's time to get back to the grind.... wish me well!
