Critterfest hit and my free time as I know it vanished. Thursday wasn't that bad. As Blythe put it, it gave the newbies "a sense of false hope" in reference to the rest of the weekend. Well, Friday hit, and again, it was worse, but definitely still manageable. The absolute wall of horrible hit on Saturday. Hundreds and hundreds poured in despite the rain and dreary weather. Granted, I'm glad that the museum is making money to help us maintain the facility and be able to provide programming year round, but this is absolutely ridiculous! Wow. It was so busy and tiring, but I enjoy working hard, so it wasn't that bad.
As per other happenings, the show continued on this weekend. Mr. Kerns made a stop by on Saturday, so we'll see his thoughts on the production next week! I thought it went pretty well, and of course, today was fantastic! Christine and Matt were able to usher and see the show. Now, I must preface this with the fact that I like, nay, LOVE to laugh and will easily crack up at the most random things. However, when someone I know is in the audience of one of my shows and they are laughing hysterically, I cannot help but want to break character!!! Of course, Matthew is a laugher and I can hear him every three seconds forcing me to crack a smile or two. UGH! Silly hubby... But really, the show hasn't been as bad as I anticipated, and of course as I'm finally beginning to get into my character we only have three more performances. Well, we'll see what the theatrical future holds for me in the next few months!
Taking a slight detour to my personal, I am going to miss Christopher this week! He's gone to church camp, so I'm praying that he has a fun and uplifting week. I remember the "good ol' days" back at QMCC and LCCC. The years I spent in anticipation of being a counselor at Altus, then finally reaching that point and having a BLAST! Oh, every time the boys snuck over and hung out, the humor that ensued shall never be matched! And at LCCC, being the queen of the arts and crafts was so much fun! But, on a serious note, I loved the fellowship and sense of community that was built at those places. It was such a relief to be able to be myself in a comfortable and supportive environment. I loved being able to study the Lord's Word and be around such great Christian friends. What a blessing to have those times... I can only wish all those things and so much more for my dear!
Delving into my social life, I had an opportunity to spend some time with people from work this past week and boy was it hilarious! We all went out to eat at Cancun after Critterfest Day 1. I really hope that we all get a chance to do something that like that again! In fact, I think it would be great to at least get together once a month to share and rant and just in general bond and spend time together. Well, on top of that, I got to go out Friday night for a bit. I went and played pool at Bash's with Trey, two of his friends, and Christopher while a band played in the background. Definitely a WIN, especially when you consider Trey and I went 3-0! WOO! After that was a quick Josie's run to eat a bite with some of the Buddy Holly Story people. (That show is so fantastic and I LOVE the cast!) I met back up with Trey and another guy from work, Jared, at Louie Louie's after that. It's so much fun there getting to sing at the top of your lungs without anyone giving you a second glance! Haha! Definitely a fun night and I can't wait to go out with them again!
I, also, had a fantastic afternoon/evening today with some PAC people. After the show, Christine and Conner came to my place for a bit where I made some very... well... interesting improvised songs for them while Christine played the guitar. I LOVE making up comedic little musical bits. Seriously, I LOVE doing musical improv. (Anybody up for a semester or two at Second City? haha!) Anyway, after that Matt called and we ended up decided to have a "Poor Man's Feast", which I invented on the spot. Basically, it's when you scour up random things you already have and combine them with random cheap (AKA- Dollar Tree cheap) food items in a mish-mash feast!!! We ended up picking up Matt, making a run to Dollar Tree, then going to Conner's house to eat and play Apples to Apples. Mind you, this was an EPIC game of Apples to Apples lasting well over 4 hours. During that time Travis showed up and he got to play for a while. Not too long after his departure, the game dwindled and we moved to the computer to watch YouTube! My current obsession is Dot from MADtv and we saw a few of her and some other MADtv favorites. Bed time followed and I'm home and writing this.
Really, I love these people. I love the time we get to spend together. It's so wonderful knowing that at any time of day, I could simply call up and one of them and have company or comfort. They're such a blessing and I'm so grateful that God put them into my life!
Enough with the sappiness! To bed! <3
